It can be quite intimidating to be present at the largest medical center in the world. The Texas Medical Center consists of 21 hospitals and 8 specialty institutions, 8 academic and research institutions, 4 medical schools, 7 nursing schools, 3 public health organizations, 2 pharmacy schools and a dental school.
During the first week, TMCx has helped us navigate and network through this huge beast, understand the system and make meaningful connections with leading experts. This was a great entry point for DOT into the US market.
Just as I was getting accustomed to the grandeur of the medical community, the following week was spent showcasing DOT at the HIMSS Conference in Orlando. HIMSS is the largest healthcare IT conference, which brings together 40,000+ health IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world.
We received some great feedback from potential customers as well as experts who would like to collaborate with us moving forward (more to come on this later). It helped put everything into perspective and truly realize what DOT’s niche is and where we stand in the bigger picture.
We have a long long way to go before we cut the mark of being a part of this preeminent legacy. But it’s about powering through, believing it would happen and then making it happen; being able to push past the inevitable bleakness of failure is what counts. At the end of the day it’s the journey that matters, not the glorified fairytale ending.
After all, it was Walt Disney who said it best ;),
‘All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.’
Happy Monday!
